I have found a new stylist, Raquel at The Rock salon. She comes with 4 very positive reviews from naturallycurly.com. I am so excited to have found this site, and found a recommendation for a real live currently working person.

I always dread getting my hair cut because curly hair is very difficult to cut...especially when beauty schools do not train stylists. You have to find somebody who has gotten their techniques from specialty training on their own, or has a lot of experience. I've found that even going to curly haired stylists doesn't really work. I was nearly brought to tears reading some of the forum posts on naturallycurly--I could have written about half of those about coping with curly hair in a non curly styling world.

I felt relieved just to make the appointment--like there is hope I can finally have a decent hair cut to show off my curls.
